CIPS BC Constitution

Name

The name of the Society is Canadian Information Processing Society of British Columbia (CIPS BC).

 

Objectives

The purposes of the Society shall be:


Promote Professionalism in Information Systems:

To enhance the professional standing of its members by actively promoting the Information Systems Professional of Canada (I.S.P.) designation through a program of education and support within the Province and by emphasizing the benefits of the designation to members and employers alike.


Administration of the Professional Designation:

To provide a Provincial body to administer the certification, registration, standards, education and discipline of the I.S.P. designation, within British Columbia.


Protection of the Public:

To protect the public against unskilled or unethical work with respect to information systems practices by its members.
