CIPS British Columbia is a Provincial Society that certifies IT professionals in B.C. and is a member of the National IT Association CIPS (Canadian Information Processing Society). Since 1958 CIPS has helped strengthen the Canadian IT industry by establishing standards and sharing best practices for the benefit of individual IT professionals and the sector as a whole.

CIPS offers Networking opportunities, Certification of IT professionals (I.S.P. and ITCP certifications), Accreditation of IT Post-Secondary programs, a niche IT Job Board, a voice to government, and represents Canadian IT professionals in international forums, encouraging and facilitating on-going professional development and safeguarding the public interest.

“CIPS has provided me with the opportunity to interact with a large number of IT professionals working in very diverse industries and roles. As a person retired from IT, active participation on the CIPS BC Board has allowed me to maintain a connection with the profession. I have been able to work as part of a dedicated team actively supporting and helping to promote the importance of ethical standards and certification for IT practitioners in BC and Canada.”
